Winnyknowe Woodland

A large woodlands near village of Braehead, made up of conifer and native trees. Good mixture of trees with rowan, beech, ash, birch, hazel, sycamore, oak, alder and cherry. Grassy foot paths throughout which are waymarked. I found two entrances one has a small layby with bench which was easier than access from entrance on other side of woods. Wildlife area fenced off with large pond. Good views looking across hills and to several windfarms in the distance. Well worth a visit. Good for birds.
