Windmill Wood

Windmill Wood was planted as part of the National Forest in 2000/1. Adjacent to Knowle Hill Equestrian Centre, it features broad, well-maintained rides designed for use in organised equestrian events. Dogs are welcome, when kept on leads. Care should be taken when walking along the rides. There are warning signs that advise of horses approaching at speed. A well-established wildlife pond is another notable feature. Car parking is available at Ticknall Village Hall where there are also toilets.
