West Wood (3)

West Wood is ancient semi natural woodland that is owned by Castle Point Borough Council and actively managed in conjunction with the Castle Point Wildlife Group. The main point of access is via the Rayleigh Road, Hadleigh entrance. Main points of interest within this wood are its ancient wood banks and the Prittle Brook that passes through the woodland. The paths and rides are relatively well maintained. Tree species that can be found in this wood include Oak, Hornbeam, Sweet Chestnut and Ash
