Stepends

Large woods just off the A89 before you enter Plains & under the railway bridge turn left into Stepends Rd which is not well sign posted and is hidden away, but I discovered it eventually. Various entrances to the site with plenty of parking just under the bridge. The wood has footpaths but they are muddy as the area is home to some ponies, who were friendly enough. The woods are well used. The woods consist of conifers as well as broadleaf trees, with lots of rowan that are covered in berries.
