Sandside Estate-Helshetter Plantat. & Policy Wdlnd

A large woodlands at the back of the village of Reay on the A836 about 10 miles from Thurso. Plenty of parking by start of track leading to woods. Mixed woodlands of mainly young trees. Wide tracks throughout which link up to various foot paths that circle the village. Great place for insects, saw lots of butterflies & even a hen harrier. On climbing the track which is only a slight gradient you are rewarded with great views and as the day was clear I could see as far as Orkney. Well sign posted
