Murdostoun

A very large forest on the outskirts of Shotts & close to Hillhouseridge site. On a hot day like yesterday when I visited it was great to walk among the pines to keep cool. Wide foot paths throughout & once through the conifers there is a lot of mixed woodland where there are meadows area full of wildflowers especially meadowsweet. Good for birds,saw a buzzard on my visit,good for butterflies & dragonflies too. Popular with locals especially dogwalkers. Some limited parking at site.
