Melons Place

These woods were a bit of a challenge to find but I discovered one of the best ways to reach them was by parking in Muiravonside Country Park and picking up the route from there. Plenty of parking at the park which has all facilities including a tea room and toilets. The woods follow beside the River Almond with wide paths throughout. Some old trees by the river with lots of new plantings mainly birch & elder. As the path rises up there are great views looking towards Bathgate Hills & Edinburgh.
