Meakin's Pits (East)

Meakin's Pit split into two woodlands when the M57 was built. This eastern side is the larger of the two and is accessible from Pinfold Lane (past the farm towards the M57). It is a mixed woodland with a stand of Pine within it, as well as a pond at its southern end. The site is formally designated as a Local Wildlife Site. Knowsley Council is keen to work with site users/local residents on improving the site for wildlife/public use. Contact us on 0151 443 2482 to get involved.
