Kirkstall Valley Estate

Also called Hawksworth Wood, this wood has well defined, wide paths and can be accessed from Butcher Hill, Cragside Walk or Vesper Road. If coming from Cragside walk, there are steep steps down to the main path. There is a river running parallel to Hawksworth Road down the wood. It is well maintained and 'Friends of Hawksworth' meet every second Saturday to maintain the wood (see photos). There is a park and field next to Cragside Wood with a basket ball court.
