Hollingworth Lake

Built over 200 years ago to supply water to the Rochdale Canal, it is the centre of a popular Country Park with visitor facilities, nature areas and trails. The level route round the lake, with adjacent nature reserves is very popular as is the Country Park Visitor Centre, off Rakewood Rd. Leaving the car park behind, well maintained paths lead to picnic areas, dipping pools and pleasant walks providing excellent views of the moors below Blackstone Edge.
