Helmend Wood

Helmend Wood is located in the village of Broughton which is 5 miles from Biggar set in beautiful rolling countryside. Unfortunately try as hard as I could I was unable to get access to these wonderful looking woodlands. I found several entrances to a field beside the woods but on reaching the drystane wall around the woodland I discovered barbed wire around the entire site. I did manage to get some photos though. Parking near site and beautiful views and lots of bluebells in the woods.
