Groton Wood

This ancient woodland is noted for its small-leaved lime coppice, an indication that the northern part of the wood has existed since prehistoric times. It also boasts large wild cherry trees and 22 seasonal ponds. The wood is abundant with wildlife, including great-crested newts, woodcocks, and 15 species of butterfly.
