This wood is in the grounds of the Gregynog Hall University of Wales Estate. It forms part of the gardens, the natural parts containing mixed deciduous trees mostly Oak, Beech and Birch. Closer to the more formal gardens there is an arboretum including Redwoods and Monkey Puzzle trees. Bluebells abound in the spring along with Azalea and Rhododendron. There are signposted walks, a play area for children and a Tea room with Craft shop.
