A remainder of the ancient Enfield Chase this woodland boasts an abundance of wildlife with diverse woodland, meadow & wetland habitats. Trees are mostly oak & hornbeam with some beech, rowan and silver birch. Dragonflies can be spotted around the lake at the southern end of the site. The ancient meadow attracts many species of butterfly & grasshopper, as well as wildflower & grass species such as wood sage, tormentil & heath bed-straw. It also makes a great spot for a picnic!
