The main part of the wood extends towards the back of Farnley Hall Park, a public space owned by Leeds City Council (& where the Parks Department has its offices); it is a pleasant walk with carpets of crocuses early on in the year and bluebells in late spring, and a bridlepath which leads out towards the far side of the park. From here one can walk alongside the outer wall of the estate across the fields and round to Green Lane which then leads onto Hall Lane and back towards the park.
