PRIVATELY OWNED WOOD
The slopes around the Elan Valley reservoirs are covered by large swathes of coniferous woodlands and a significant area of broadleaved woods, predominantly sessile oak. The Elan Valley Trust has a visitor centre, B&B and tearoom. More details on the trust website. Foxes, badgers, bats and otters are amongst the mammals living here. Redstarts, pied flycatchers and wood warblers are just a small sample of the birdlife and red kites can easily be spotted.
