Part of the well-used Figgate Park with many access points, this wood stretches from the residential areas of Duddingston towards Portobello with wide paved paths alongside a small burn. There are benches at regular intervals. If you keep following the path, there is a pond near Mountcastle Drive, with a boardwalk for wildlife spotting and picnic tables nearby.
