Desert Wood

Situated on the A706 by the Avon Gorge Desert Wood is a large mixed woodland with lots of Scots pine. Parking close by on a very busy road. Lots of wide tracks with paths down to the River Avon. A wood I have passed so many time but this is the first time I have properly explored it and well worth a visit on a dry day. Great views of the Avon Gorge. No facilities on site, nearest town with facilities is either Linlithgow or Bathgate. Fishing rights on the river,lots of interesting fungi on site
