Coed Gwaun-Y-Ffeiriad

This 40 hectare wood, a mix of mature beech and conifer with some more recent planting, is known locally as Blaen Bran Community Woodland. It is owned by local residents who have made significant improvements to access,car parking, information, resting places and tree management. There are archaeological remains of the Engine House and Fan House from the Mineslope Colliery, a former driftmine overlooking Cwmbran.
