Coalburn

Coalburn is a huge community woodland on the site of a former opencast mine. At the moment it looks a bit like a waste land but I would describe it as a work in progress. There are wide tracks through the site which are the former mine roads. So suitable for cycling and mountain biking. Parking at site and all facilities to be found in Coalburn. Access to Long Plantation which is beside these woods which took me about an hour to reach, but well worth the walk. Good views and worth a visit.
