The woods at occur as scattered/connected features on the large open heath, so there are numerous habitats to explore starting from various parking places & following numerous paths. The site's an NNR of European importance & highly prized for its wildlife, including 350 plant species, 29 butterflies, 115 birds, 44 dragonflies, 25 mammals, amphibians & reptiles.
