Castlefield Wood

Much of this wood was destroyed by storms in 1990 but, after extensive replanting combined with allowing it to regenerate naturally, it now offers an interesting site with a wide variety of flora and fauna and is a Local Nature Reserve. The orchids that are particularly prolific near the top of the slope of the grassland in late June.
