Candie Wood

Candie Wood situated between Standburn & Candie close to the Avon Gorge. Signposted off the A801. A fairly new planted woodland on what was a former industrial site. The main entrance has a small car park. Wide grass track in places. Mixed plantation of conifers at start of walk then it is made up of good mixture of birch, ash, rowan, hawthorn, oak etc. Good for birds and wildflowers beside footpath. Benches along route with picnic area with table. Good views of Bathgate Hills.
