Buittle Hill

This small woodland is just a few miles from Dalbeattie. The access road to it is very narrow and there is very little parking; it is best to park in the layby for Buittle Castle and walk up to the wood along a lovely, tree lined country lane. The short, well made track through the wood (lined with mostly native trees) gives some great views over the surrounding countryside. Combined with a trip to the castle, this could make a nice Sunday afternoon stroll.
