Abney Hall Woodland

These woodlands, located within the grounds of Abney Hall (built in 1847), a historic site that has housed royalty, prime ministers and even Agatha Christie. The site of the park was formerly part of the Mersey flood plain and much of the land is still very damp, forming wet meadows. The grounds of Abney Hall are now 1/10 of their original size, with the hall now used as offices and the grounds are looked after for the benefit of both visitors and wildlife.
