Located right in the heart of the city, Calton Hill is better known as a viewpoint than a wood (though there are some large trees here). It's an unusually quiet place to enjoy a great panorama of Edinburgh city including Salisbury Crags and Holyrood Park. Access via a path from Waterloo Place. Lots of history & artefacts here too.
